The Town has submitted its application to the Albany County Farmland Protection Board to enroll all Town-owned agricultural parcels (including those associated with the Heath Farm) in Albany County’s Agricultural District # 3 for stronger right-to-farm protections for current and future farmers of the land.
Planning in underway for the re-establishment of the Heath Farm Community Garden!
Our Town’s Fire Distrcits have been using the Clapper Road and Heath Lane residential structures to run training drills to strengthen critical life-saving skills.
Thank you to: Selkrik Fire, Slingerlands Fire Rescue, Elsmere Fire, Delmar Fire and North Bethlehem/Elmwood Park Fire Districts for keeping our residents safe!
The 2025 Request for Applications for Leasing Town-owned farmland (including Heath Farm lands) was released and the award of the lease is on the March 26, 2025 Town Board meeting Agenda.
Concurrently- the Town is continuing to identify critical infrastructure needs, and lay the groundwork for an array of future land access opportunities for the Heath Farm land.
